Six Flags theme parks are among the most popular in the U.S., and Six Flags over Texas is one of the best-known parks in the system.
In addition to all the thrill rides, there are many regularly scheduled live entertainment shows, not to mention tons of restaurants, food stands and specialty shops located on the premises.
But it's the rides everyone goes to Six Flags for, and rides a'plenty you'll find here. There are more than 20 thrill rides or attractions, including four giant roller coasters. But there are also plenty of kids and family rides for people who prefer things a little more calm.
Hurricane Harbor, nearby Six Flags over Texas, is a Six Flags water park.
Park dates and hours are seasonal, so check the website or call before planning a visit. Admission for adults is more than $40 per person, with children in the mid-$20 range.
