About Huntsville State Park:
Huntsville State Park encompasses nearly 2,100 acres of Walker County, just south of the city of Huntsville. It has been part of the Texas State Parks system since 1937.

Huntsville State Park is heavily wooded with pine and other hardwoods, and adjoins Sam Houston National Forest. The 210-acre Lake Raven is within the borders of the park.

Visitors to Huntsville State Park have a variety of activities to choose from: camping, hiking, biking, boating, horseback riding, fishing, swimming and nature study are just a few. There are boat and Hydrobike rentals available at the lake.

Campsites include tent sites with water and camping areas with water and electricity. There is a 1.3-mile nature trail; 3.2 miles of paved bicycle trails; 15.5 miles of hiking trails; and 11 miles of mountain bike trails.

Huntsville State Park is open daily yearround, except on days scheduled for public hunts. There is a small admission charge.
