Houston, Texas
Houston, also called SpaceCity or Bayou City, is the largest city in Texas and one of the five largest in the United States.
The Houston metropolitan area covers hundreds of square miles and continues expanding. Such cities as Katy, Pearland, Friendswood, Clear Lake, The Woodlands, Sugar Land and Pasadena now fall within Houston's "sphere of influence." Even the island getaway of Galveston often finds itself attached to Houston.
Houston offers a world of activities for every interest. The city boasts a collection of great museums and theaters; major-league sports teams and great golf courses; some of the best dining in the South; amusement parks, cultural destinations, city parks and outdoor spaces. There is much more to see and do in the Houston area than we can do justice to here.

Getting to Houston
Houston is in the Southeast part of Texas, about 90 minutes from the Texas-Louisiana border. It sits close to Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico (the Houston port is one of the largest and busiest in the world).
Many major highways criss-cross the Houston area, including Interstate 10 (east-west) and Interstate 45 (north-south). Interstate 610 is a loop around the inner parts of the city, and the Sam Houston Tollway is an outer loop. US Highways 59, 90 and 75 are very important arteries, too.
There are two airports in Houston, the largest and busiest being Houston George Bush Intercontinental. Hobby Field is another option for fliers with several major carriers and regional airlines housed there, as well.
