About Acton State Historic Site:
Welcome to the smallest state park in Texas. Acton State Historic Site is a mere 1/100th of an acre in size - it's one gravesite and the monument that stands over that gravesite.
The grave is the burial site of Elizabeth Crockett, the second wife of American frontiersman, senator, and Alamo hero Davy Crockett. Elizabeth and Davy were married him in Tennessee in 1815. Elizabeth died in 1860.
The Acton State Historic Site is inside Acton Cemetery, which is reached by travelling 4.5 miles east of Granbury via U.S. 377, then heading 2.4 miles south on FM 167. The site is administered by the staff of nearby Cleburne State Park, whose number is listed above.
